General information
The client’s brief was to add planting that would create an impact but also allow enough space for furniture. We decided that a large tree would be the best here but that it would need to be very large in order to create the desired impact that both the client and the building required.

We measured the door width and then went about getting a tree and planter pot that would fit. The Ficus tree we choose had a height of 7m and a root ball of 1100mm. The door measures 1100mm so there was no space left over for sure.

For this size of a tree we also needed a massive pot but the largest which we could squeeze in on its side measured 1100mm high x 1500mm diameter.

Ballymoss House Picture 6.jpegGetting the tree into the new pot was also a challenge as we were not permitted to use a forklift. We used 2 engine lifters and a timber beam to lift the tree into situ.

Comment
This was a project that required a 3 week turnaround, so it was all hands on board, both with our own staff and our suppliers.
