We Are Still Open - Statement from Koberg

on Thursday, 09 April 2020. Posted in News

Normal life in the whole world has been totally disrupted within just a few weeks. Children are not going to school, stores are being closed, people have to work from home and we are required to change our social behaviour. In short, everything will be different for a while

The well-being of our team, their families and our business partners is our priority, but we also want to keep providing you with the service that you expect from us. This won’t be easy and we are forced to make the following logistical changes to guarantee fresh (1day) plants, sharp rates and conditions.

We won’t know for how long we’ll need to ask the conditions below from you, and obviously we’ll keep you informed if anything is changing.;

Plant-orders:
  • Friday is our only dispatch day in the week for weekend or Monday delivery the next week
  • Order on a Tuesday latest (all our suppliers including Koberg will work on limited capacity so we need more time to organize orders)
  • Please try to communicate mostly by email, due to the proposed upcoming lockdown, with limited access, and to make sure we do not miss any enquiries/orders. If you do need to talk to us and you have no response on the office line, call Onno 0031630989836 or Carole on her mobile
  • Before you order, please double check if you can actually do the install
  • The pound is very volatile at the moment, so I would like to ask you, now more than ever, to clear any outstanding invoices in good time. We are working with tight margins and most of this is evaporated due to the most recent crash.
It will not always be easy to serve you at the high level you are used to from us. We ask you for your understanding

Strong together
More than ever, we are are in close contact with our suppliers and we are working together to overcome this exceptional situation which is having a huge impact on all companies such as yourselves and ours but especially also the growers.

We are part of the auction together with all the growers, and in order to protect the prices at the clocks, flowers and plants are bought for bare minimum prices to keep the growers afloat.  All this perfectly healthy trade can then be destroyed – please watch this video - just 1 day, and this has been going on for more than a week now.

A grower such as Fachjan has already got 40ft containers coming in with young plants pre-booked but they have no space for them and in order to make space they need to destroy perfectly health plants as well. These are all personal friends that we've been dealing with day in day out and it hurts to see this happening from up close.

On behalf of the entire Koberg team, we wish you health and strength to get through this challenging period.
