Big changes for Biotecture; Jodie and Russell join the Board of Directors

on Friday, 19 November 2021. Posted in Latest News

The demand for green infrastructure and living walls continues to build, and Biotecture Ltd have made some exciting promotions to ensure they can grow sustainably. They are pleased to announce two additions to our Board of Directors. Jodie Voller — previously Biotecture’s Operations Manager — has been promoted to Sustainability Director and Russell Hearsum steps up from Head of Maintenance, into the role of Maintenance Director.

Jodie will be working to ensure that Biotecture embed a sustainable strategy across the business to create long-term value.
Maintenance is a key part of Biotecture’s business and the number of living walls Biotecture look after continues to expand. As Maintenance Director, Russell will be focusing on developing client relationships and creating strong departmental growth in the future.

Russell explains his plans for Biotecture's maintenance department:
At Biotecture we encourage our staff to apply for new opportunities internally. All of our current maintenance supervisors have been internally promoted from operatives over the last few years due to the growth of the department, I find that this builds a positive and informed culture within the department. A senior supervisor has been promoted to Maintenance Contracts Manager.

Jodie Voller explains how Biotecture are bringing sustainability to the top of their agenda:
We are a green company, our products contribute in so many positive ways to the environmental issues we are facing today by reducing pollutants, reducing urban temperatures, and increasing biodiversity. Our living walls give our clients the chance to take full advantage of nature, even in an urban environment, helping reduce stress, improve wellbeing and productivity.
As Sustainability Director I will ensure we ‘practice what we preach’ in a sense that we are truly sustainable, not only in our products but also across our operations. Biotecture’s ethos has always been towards recycled materials and to minimise our negative impact, and I will embed this further, making improvements to our internal processes and working closely with our supply chain to ensure we’re the best we can be! I will be taking an honest inward look at the company and assessing the impact we have, both positive and negative, and the responsibility we have to improve wherever possible. Although predominantly this will be environmental impacts, it also includes governance, our employees, our impact on the community, and on our customers.
