Parker Hannifin consists of two floors with different purposes; the ground floor is a relaxed and social space with a large private boardroom.

The second floor is an open-plan busy office space with small lunch/kitchen areas. This is the main space so has a mix of cabinet toppers, standing pots and tall planters to segregate the zones whilst also tying the space together.

The variety & mix of planting with a wide range of species, all requiring differing care. The plants at this site are all very visible so it’s been a priority to keep them all looking great.

Various Pottery Pots such as Charlie M Haning, Charlie XL Feet High, Nax, Ben, Bond, Pax, Dax, customer’s own cabinet toppers. Plus a real mix of Aglos, Ficus, Rhipsalis, Arecas, Ficus, Dracaenas, Zamis, Epis, Kentias and Crotons amongst the plants.

This site has had a few issues with temperature control and at times it has been challenging to keep the plants happy in unfavourable conditions, especially those in darker areas during the winter months. We have recognised plants that are struggling, and taken action by either moving them to better suited areas or managing the watering to keep them in a more dormant state.

In contrast, other plants have thrived in the busy areas and it has been tricky to balance the needs of the plants versus those of the client, so lots of tactical trimming has been needed to keep plant growth under control so as not to get in the way of staff going about their business.

Three main points:
Helping plants to adapt to unnatural conditions i.e. cold air conditioning, dark areas etc.

Recognising plants that are struggling and helping to address their needs in a timely manner by repositioning their location, adaptive watering, treatment etc.

Watering of mixed species planting in cabinet toppers to ensure each plant stays at the optimum moisture levels.
