Allwyn have been a client for a few years at one of their much smaller offices. When they won the National Lottery contract the company expanded their office space substantially, and we have been working with them since to create a more harmonised feel across their various work spaces. This project was their first office in the Bond Street area of London, and they wanted something that matched the design of their existing offices, but more unique.
The brief was ‘White and Simple’, but the client also wanted something that was going to stand out, and not just become part of the furniture. We achieved this with the container design by choosing 3 varieties of container, from two different ranges. The containers are simple, with some texture.
In-order to elevate the displays within the brief, we used a large variety of different styles and colours of tropical plants, making them the main focus of the display. This also included a huge variety of plants in the 4 built-in kitchen top beds.
The floor standing displays combine a very simple white design, with a huge variety of colour and shape of plant, to create displays that are eye catching, without going outside of the client’s simple brief.
The custom design built-in kitchen beds are beautiful to looks at, and the height, variety and density of the planting was carefully considered to match the client’s requirements.
Challenges included a very delayed timescale, leaving a very short window for the installation. Access to the building was also very difficult, with multiple stair cases the displays had to go up. We also had only been given a very rough estimate of the size of the kitchen built-in beds, so all the liners and planting up had to be done having not seen the beds before.
The variety and design of the plants in the kitchen unit beds that create a balance between privacy and sound insulation, whilst not blocking the view or light between the kitchen and office space.
Client feedback: “Plants received so many compliments on Day 1 and no one can believe they are real.”
