Growing Together: Join the plants@work Pride Network at Pride in London!

on Thursday, 28 May 2026. Posted in Latest News

As we celebrate 25 years of plants@work, we are thrilled to invite you to be a part of a very special milestone. This year, we aren’t just celebrating our silver jubilee; we are taking our commitment to inclusivity to the streets of London. We are officially inviting you to join us as we march in the Pride in London parade on the 4th July.

We want this to be a true celebration of community. Everybody is invited. You do not need to be a member of plants@work to join our group. Whether you work in the interior landscaping industry or you simply want to show your support for friends, family members, or colleagues within the LGBTQ+ community, you are more than welcome. We believe that when we come together, our voice is stronger, and we would be honoured to have you by our side.

The launch of the plants@work Pride Network earlier this year is more than just a new initiative; it is a promise. As Ian Drummond, plants@work Ambassador and Equality and Diversity Secretary, says:
"As we celebrate 25 years of plants@work, it is vital that we look forward to the next 25 with a clear focus on the people who make this industry. Our industry has always been a place of creativity and growth, and by formalising this network, we are ensuring that every individual—regardless of how they identify—feels seen, supported, and celebrated. Today we’ve planted something truly special. TOGETHER WE GROW."

We believe the interior landscaping industry should be a space where everyone thrives, not just grows. By marching together, we are making that vision visible.

We want our presence to be as vibrant and lush as the environments we create. We are calling on all marchers to get creative with their attire! Think "interior plant" ensembles—the greener, the bolder, and the more colourful, the better.
To help inspire your outfit, why not pay homage to the botanical symbols that have played such a significant role in gay and queer history?
  • Pansies:  Historically known for their bright, flamboyant colours and linked to the vibrant energy of the community.
  • Lavender: A classic symbol of identity and solidarity throughout the 20th century.
  • The Green Carnation:  Famously popularised by Oscar Wilde as a subtle symbol of attraction and pride.
  • Violets: A beautiful nod to the poet Sappho, who described herself and her lover wearing garlands of these delicate flowers.
Whether you wear a splash of lavender, a green carnation in your lapel, or go all-out with a leafy, botanical masterpiece, let’s show London the creativity of our industry!
