Pride Month is a time for celebration, reflection, and honouring the LGBTQ+ community. Throughout history, when open expression was dangerous or restricted, people often turned to the language of flowers — known as floriography — to communicate identity, attraction, solidarity, and love.

At plants@work, we believe plants are more than decoration. They are living symbols of resilience, transformation, and growth, as well as silent witnesses to LGBTQ+ history and culture.

Reaching a milestone like a 35th anniversary often calls for a celebration. But our member, Fleurtations Plantscapes, has chosen a different path entirely—one that puts community impact ahead of festivities.

plants@work, the voice of the interior landscaping industry, is proud to announce the successful conclusion of its Annual General Meeting, held at the vibrant and inspiring Glasshouse Collective.

Ian Drummond, of I Drummond Botanicals and a plants@work Ambassador, highlights a significant shift in recent years: a surge in men purchasing and collecting houseplants across the UK and globally. Men now represent a rapidly growing demographic of indoor ‘plant parents,’ a trend largely driven by an increasing interest in home design and the pursuit of improved mental health and wellbeing.

National plants@work Week returns from 6–10 July, and we’re inviting everyone to take part in this celebration of the power of plants in our indoor spaces.
