Best Project 2018: Kobalt Music by Indoor Garden Design now Nurture Landscapes Ltd
As we continue to celebrate 20 years of Leaf Awards by reminding everyone of past 'Best Projects'. Today's contribution is an installation by IGD now Nurture Landscapes Ltd at Kobalt Music from 2018:
Best Project 2018
Kobalt Music, Indoor Garden Design now Nurture Landscapes Ltd
The client's brief for this new installation was to create an urban look with their planting scheme using 3 repeated shapes of large floor standing planters and matching desk top planters in soft neutral colours, natural, anthracite and grey.
The client also wanted architectural style plants that created a clean crisp look, complementing the overall mostly open plan office space. The scheme consists of strong but natural shaped floor-standing Ego Giant and Essence planters, planted with large Kentia, Monstera, Sansevieria, Dracaena marginata and matching desk top Ego Plus bowls.
Judge’s comments
This is a supremely stylish and well-executed design. The matt black, grey and cream stone-look planters are a perfect match to the interior finishes of the offices. The very tall ones have well-selected plants and look amazing – they are a perfect example of how this type of planter should be used. The huge Monsteras in matt black planters are stunning and were a perfect choice as the area is large and needed a bold statement. The leaves give very interesting and effective shadows right across the room due to the stark white walls and bright spotlights. The Monstera are growing large new leaves and appear to be thriving. Everything has been exceptionally well done and I can’t fault it. Greg Redwood, Head of Greenhouses at Kew
