This office, Daiichi Sankyo and the planting styles are a fantastic example of a post-Covid revolutionised work space. Every display has been carefully designed to serve a purpose. These include striking feature plants in ceramic pots used as an eye catching alternative to wall art, garden style wicker and hanging displays in the indoor pergola, barriers and desktop planting to limit clutter and increase privacy, plus add to the employee health benefits, and finally artificial ivy to help with noise pollution.

On top of the functionality, Botanica Nurseries also used a huge variety of different plants and pots to create a much more laid back and homely feel to the space, rather than lots of very corporate matching displays. There are over 20 different varieties of plants across the 36 displays.

The brief was to use planting to turn an open plan space into something a bit more structured, without being a classic compartmental office space. The office was to be a place the employees want to visit to meet and socialise with their clients and colleagues. There needed to be functionality in the meeting rooms, hot desks and a kitchen area, but the rest of the office was to be a much more informal space, with a games area and indoor pergola. The space also had to be adaptable for the future.

The client wanted to avoid plastics and fiberglass and focus on more natural looking products such as ceramic, wood and stone. The client also wanted to create an outdoor feel, and requested plants that mimicked garden plants, such as colourful autumn trees, half standards, trailing ivy and hanging pots.
