Ian Drummond takes on new role
We are almost at the end of June which has been the month to celebrate PRIDE; a month dedicated to celebrating LGBTQ+ communities around the world.
This is particularly pertinent as our Ambassador Ian Drummond has taken on the role of Membership and Diversity and Inclusion Secretary in our newly voted committee under the leadership of Kenneth Freeman of Purposeful Places.
In September last year, plants@work issued a new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy for all its members and teams, in a bid to eliminate unlawful discrimination and support fair representation to all sectors.
The policy includes commitments to provide equality and respect to all members of the team, protect against unlawful discrimination as referred to in the Equality Act 2010, and encourage fair and professional practice. At the time, Ian commented: “I am so pleased to see this important policy launched at plants@work, supporting equality for everyone no matter what their gender, beliefs, leanings or skin colour.”
Following his new appointment as Membership, Diversity & Inclusion Secretary, Ian comments, “I’m pleased to head up this section and keep minority sections in our community well represented.”
