March 8 - International Women’s Day (IWD)
‘International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on the 8th of March to honour the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women worldwide. This day also serves as a call to action for accelerating gender equality. Established in the early 1900s, IWD has grown into a global movement advocating for women’s rights and equality.’
Women in Interior Landscaping
Most areas/jobs within interior landscaping are open to women although some areas are more often filled by men; not an unusual situation in many professions.
If you look at our website article, ‘Choosing a Rewarding Career in Interior Landscaping’, you will see that many of the jobs in the industry do not obviously steer towards one sex or another, which means there are many opportunities for women as well as men in Interior Landscaping.
Throughout this week #NationalCareerWeek we have tried to highlight the many opportunities within Interior Landscaping without specifying the sex of the candidates.
We have found that most member companies honour and encourage women to take part in all areas.
We hope it will have inspired many young women looking for a career path.
