plants@work announces new committee
We held our AGM yesterday and following reports of what we have covered and achieved in the past year (June 2023 - May 2024), the new committee were voted in as well as new fees agreed and more. We have reported the results including the new committee and the positions they will hold in the release which has gone out today.
plants@work announces new committee
Following our AGM on Thursday 20 June 2024, we are pleased to confirm that there are only minor changes to announce about our plants@work committee.
Kenneth Freeman will retain his position as Chair, “With changes to our structure under way, I am pleased to remain as Chair to help steer plants@work through another busy year with our new range of membership categories and more events attended in person rather than by Zoom.”
To support Kenneth, Shirley Anne Marshall and Prettpal Somel both of Ambius will share the supporting role of Deputy Chair. The newly appointed role of Membership and Diversity Secretary has been taken on by Ambassador Ian Drummond of Ian Drummond Botanical Designs while Shirley Smith of Botanica Nurseries will be the new Social Secretary.
They will be supported by Arvin Bhudia of Lechuza, Craig Edser, regional manager at Nurture Landscapes Ltd and Stephen Dieppe, MD of phsGreenleaf.
Ian commented, "I am so excited to take on this new role. I think it really highlights the importance plants@work put upon diversity and inclusion and I look forward to welcoming all members new and old into the plants@work family"
The year ahead
The organisation has already confirmed a new range of membership categories and accompanying fees and has a visit to Festive’s premises in Wales planned for early in
2025.
The first event during this ‘new year’ will be National Plants at Work Week 8 – 12 July followed by our Awards Gala in October following our attendance at Futurescape.
We will continue our monthly Zoom committee meetings with the option to engage additional meetings where necessary.
Of course, we will continue to announce plans of what we are doing to support and promote the industry as they happen during the year.
