The Roslin Institute, Edinburgh by Ambius
We are continuing our celebration of the award--winning designs over the last 20 years. This time we are celebrating the Roslin Institute in Edinburgh which was awarded with the Best Project for Maintenance in 2020. It is maintained by Ambius.

The Roslin Institute is an animal sciences research institute at Easter Bush, Midlothian, Scotland, part of the University of Edinburgh, and is funded by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council.
The Institute was put in the world's spotlight in 1996, with the birth of Dolly the Sheep, the first animal ever to be cloned from an adult animal cell. The ultimate aim of The Roslin Institute is to enhance the lives of animals and with improved food safety, improved animal welfare and sustainable management of the environment for teaching and training scientists at all stages of their careers.

The different colours and types of plants add depth to the wall and make it stand out. Various plants including Tradescantia, Begonia rex, ferns, Monstera, Philodendron scandens in 9cm pots.

The exterior walls are filled with Bergina cordifolia, Pachysandra terminalis, Hedera Helix, Sarcococca confuse, various Carex, Euphorbia amygdaloides, Helleborus foetidus, Erica and Polypodium vulgare.
